Train with Intention.
A strength training app for lifters who treat the gym like a discipline. 16 science-backed campaigns. 21 ranks to climb. 76 unlockables to earn. Every set logged with reverence.

Programs you'd actually finish.
Every campaign is a structured journey with phases, milestones, and a tier of completion — Bronze, Silver, or Gold. Periodization, deloads, and phase-by-phase explanations baked in. No spreadsheets. No guessing.
Research consistently favors periodized training over linear approaches for both strength (Rhea et al., 2002) and hypertrophy (Schoenfeld et al., 2015) outcomes. Every Workout Aura campaign is built on this foundation.

Training, treated like a discipline.
Most apps log sets. Workout Aura builds a record — of who you are, where you've been, and what you're becoming.
Science-backed campaigns
Sixteen 2-to-12-week programs — strength, hypertrophy, fat loss, beginner ramps, specialization. Periodization baked in, plus a library of ready-made routines for freestyle days.
A hero card you'll obsess over
21 ranks. 16 talismans. 21 auras. 7 rings. 9 stripes. 26 mantras. Customize every detail of your identity as you climb the ladder.
Built for the gym floor
Auto rest timer per exercise. Plate calculator. Warm-up ramps. 1RM estimates. PR detection. Supersets & circuits. Form cues for 100+ lifts.
Two ways to train.
Research on behavior change shows gamification — points, levels, and visible progress — meaningfully improves adherence to long-term habits (Cugelman, 2013; Johnson et al., 2016). Workout Aura turns every session into measurable progress.

One workout app, designed differently.
Strong, Hevy, and Fitbod are good at logging. Workout Aura is a different kind of app — built around a journey, not just a database.
We respect the work the other teams have done. This is about design philosophy — different goals, different shape.
21 ranks. Six divisions. One climb.
From your first session as a Spark to ascending past Aeon. Every rank has its own visual identity, its own division, its own meaning.

+ Prestige past Aeon — multipliers stack, the climb resets, the path continues.
Customize your aura.
Earn XP. Unlock six categories of cosmetics. Make your hero card unmistakably yours — your virtues, your colors, your ritual.

The XP Ring
The progress arc that wraps your rank. From the standard sweep to particle-trailed comets, choose how your XP visualizes.
Rank Stripes
Three stripes mark progress through every rank. Earn the right to redesign them.
Your training signature
A single line, displayed on your hero card, written by your own hand. Pick a vow, change it as you change.
Spend XP to earn it back faster
Pour your earned XP into a potion and your next sessions pay out at a multiplier. A real sink for the economy — and a reason to chain workouts while the timer's hot.
The Streak Shield
Travel. Sickness. Life. Earn peace of mind — the Shield protects your streak when you need to step away. Spend, and keep your fire.
The details that actually matter.
Every working set deserves attention. Every compound deserves a warm-up. Workout Aura handles the parts you'd otherwise track on a notepad.

Fitbod auto-generates one workout at a time; Workout Aura ships 16 science-backed campaigns (2 to 12 weeks each) with phases, deloads, and periodization built in. Workout Aura is also more affordable at $39.99/year vs Fitbod's $79.99/year. See the full comparison →
What's a good alternative to Hevy?

Which workout app has a ranking or leveling system like a video game?
Workout Aura is built around an RPG-style 21-rank ladder organized across six divisions (Initiate, Disciple, Hardened, Elite, Prestige, and Ascendant). Each workout earns XP with streak multipliers. Beyond ranks, lifters unlock 16 talismans, 21 auras, 7 XP ring styles, 9 rank stripes, and 26 mantras to customize their hero card.
Is Workout Aura worth it?
Workout Aura is worth it for lifters who want structured multi-week programs and progression-based motivation. At $39.99/year (about $3.33/month with a 7-day free trial), it's cheaper than Fitbod ($79.99/year) and Hevy ($59.99/year), and includes 16 campaigns, 413 exercises, 21 ranks, and the full 76+ cosmetic unlock system with no in-app paywalls. Lifters who only need basic set logging may prefer Strong at $29.99/year.
What devices does Workout Aura run on?
Workout Aura is built for iPhone (iOS 16+). It is iOS-only — no Android, no native iPad app, no web version. Optimized for the gym floor: works offline, doesn't drain battery, respects safe-area cutouts, keeps screen awake during workouts.
How is this different from Strong, Hevy, or Fitbod?
Strong is a clean barbell-focused logger. Hevy is community-driven and social. Fitbod auto-generates workouts via AI. Workout Aura is none of these — it treats training as a long-form practice with structured campaigns, a 21-rank progression ladder, talismans, auras, and an XP economy designed to keep you engaged across years.
Does Workout Aura work without internet?
Yes. Workout Aura is local-first and fully usable offline without an account. All training data is stored on your device by default. Cloud sync (via Sign in with Apple or Google) is optional and only used to back up across devices.
Can beginners use Workout Aura?
Yes. Workout Aura includes beginner-specific campaigns: Off The Couch (2-week starter), First Steps (4-week true beginner), and 5×5 The Proving Ground (12-week novice strength). Each includes phase explanations and form cues for 100+ exercises.
Do I need any equipment?
No. Bodyweight Blueprint, First Steps, and Off The Couch require no equipment. Most other campaigns assume access to a barbell, dumbbells, and a bench — but the exercise swap feature lets you substitute almost anything.
Is my data private?
Yes. By default all training data is stored locally on your device. Cloud sync is optional — sign in with Apple or Google to back up and sync across devices. No advertising IDs, no third-party analytics SDKs. We never sell your data and we never show ads. See our privacy policy.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. The annual plan includes a 7-day free trial through the App Store so you can experience the full app before subscribing. Cancel anytime within the trial and you are not charged.
Can I import my existing workout history?
Not yet — but CSV and JSON export are built in for backups, and CSV import from common loggers is on the roadmap.
What if a campaign is too easy or too hard?
Every exercise can be swapped for a same-muscle alternative, and weights auto-suggest based on your previous sessions. If a phase isn't right, the periodization adjusts as you go.
Will I lose my data if I switch iPhones?
No. The easiest way is to sign in with Apple or Google in Settings → Account on both devices — your data syncs to the cloud automatically. Or use Settings → Export to save a CSV or JSON file before switching, then Settings → Import on your new device.
